Photography Project - Help!

I have a new photography project my tutor gave me to think about...
I thought id ask you lot for your ideas :)
I have to take an artists work (drawing/painting)... and translate it into a photograph. I don't have to completely copy it but take epliments from it. If you don't get what I mean heres an example .

Theres a painting by Manet, recreated by the band Bow wow wow.
I want something cool, fun and realistic... by realistic I mean easy to create and not to hard lol!
I really like this one so far...
What you guys think? Thought Id ask you all as you lot cus you all seem quite creative!

Nexxttt.... you remember that black & white stripe dress I showed you, that I planned to wear for my 18th birthday meal (which is next wednesday:) well this dress was on sale for just £6! So i ordered it aswell as the striped one because I thought it looked like it had potential lol and I could do something great with it... I did actually consider wearing this for christmas day when it was still £30. Any ideas how I could wear this? I was thinking I would wear a belt with it, depending on where the Lurex part ends on me...

Im just watching the brits... its been on 10 mins and its been amazing so far!! Mika & Beth Ditto were so amazing!! Im not really a Mika fan but he did Britain proud! And well Beth Ditto's song 'Standing in the way of control' also known as 'The Skins song' lol was probably my song of 2007! So I thought the opening was fantastic! Im backing Artic Monkeys & Mark Ronson I think tonight... and Rhianna is about to sing with the Klaxons & She looks fantastic! Although I think Ive heard to many versions of Umbrella.

Fashion wise I haven't been very impressed... I thought Kylie looked so beautiful, her hair was great. I didn't like Leona Lewis dress much at all... the brits come once a year... and im sure she wont be up for so many awards next year so I think a better dress was in order lol.
Anyway Artic Monkeys made me chuckle! they always try and do something special & theve dressed as posh english men! haha & I think they look real smart lol! Specially the main guy in the black sweater. lol dont no his name :)

Thanks everyone! really apriciate all your comments!!
PS.Would still love tips for my shopping trip to New York, I go the 29th! so excited!
I made a video of all cool (& sexy) bits of Mitch Hewers character Maxie... its quite long but so cool! First its Maxxie dancing cus hes an amazing dancer and then its parts of skins :)

Oh I love the photography project, that's so cool. Reminds me of the episode of America's Next Top Model when they did that. Very fun.

That's a cute dress at an awesome price, too!
I think you could dress it down, make it casual but it's also nice to go out or to a meal.
You should definitely do that picture!
Looks easy to re-create and it has nice colors!
So yea, good luck with that project. Show us the outcome. (:

XOXO

For the picture I think you picked one that will be easy and still give you the ability to be creative. So, about the dress I like it. Personally I'd probably add leggings underneath just b/c it's still kinda chilly and probly and a big bangle bracelet :) but that's just me.

P.S. BathandBodyWorks is seriously great and you can get a lot for a little. There's lotion, candles, fragrances, body butter, hair gels (which my boyfriend loves btw)and pretty much any kind of body care products you'd ever need. Just make sure you go to a big BBW so you have the full variety. ;)

Interesting project! Its definitely one of the easier ones to translate but if u follow it to the T i bet itll look awesome with all that color in the background!

And that dress is cute. I would like to wear it with a little neck scarf or necklace.

That's an adorable dress, by the way :)

The photography project sounds really interesting.

Do you know Rene Magritte? He's one of my favourite painters, has quite interesting stuff. You should check it out, there might be something you can use there.
About your outfit, I like the dress and, yeah, I was thinking a belt too. Maybe a wide black patent leather one? or perhaps something quite narrow and brown à la BCBG Max Azria?

xx

Agh ... I really, really wish I could take you spot in NY. You're so unbelievably lucky.

claude monet is pretty easy...does it have to be people in your photograph? because the easiest painting he has is the lily pad pond painting..

and if you do a photograph out of one of fafi's paintings, that would be a real fund project

That photography project is an awesome idea. There's a painting that I love that would probably be super easy to recreate in a photograph called "Christina's World", though I can't think of the artist right now. You could probably google it.
As far as shopping in NYC. Just roam the streets in Soho. There are tons of fab shops. Some cheap, some expensive. I looove Intermix, but it's pricy. H&M, but everyone has that, right? Bloomingdales, Barney's Coop, Beekman's Closet, Tani (for shoes)... Have a fun trip!!!

wow, your photography project is so cool, I really like it.
I think that painting is not so difficult to work, does it have to be a Manet painting or it can be what you choose?
From Édouard Manet you have others paintings also with a girl, maybe not difficult, like Nana, 1877, On the Bench, 1879, or The Lady with the Fans, 1873. I think it's going to be hard to choose.
But I know you'll do a great work.
I hope you'll post it...

You're right to be excited about your trip, you'll love it I'm sure.

xoxo

I think that's a really cool idea for a project, and that painting seems fairly simple, but keep looking around. There will likely be more paintings of that type, but I love the dress in that one especially the flowers.

aw i love the arctic monkeys with their cheeky style. i would wear that dress with a big waist belt. or a waistcoat? orrrr take inspiration from http://thefashbot.blogspot.com/ - she put a top over a jersey dress and added a belt and it looks seriously cool! x
